[Moosic] Nihonbashi Kouka Ka R Keikaku [pv clip]

Nihonbashi Koukashita R Keikaku from Takuya Hosogane on Vimeo.

I'm not really a fan per-say of the voice software Vocaloid but the newest one IA Aria on the Planetes has a really nice character design that veers from the usual Vocaloid and her voice ain't half bad.

[Manga of the Week] Noblesse (4/1-7/2012)

Image copyright goes out to Son Jae Ho and Lee Gwang Su

Ok OK! So it's not %100 manga and is actually technically a web comic as well but the style fits and this is my series so I do what I want. *hmph* ANYWAYS, you better actually read this one... cause even though it's about a vampire it's damn well drawn and the story ain't far from fantastic.

I don't really have a video for this one so clicky on this secret link to be able to read this one in English.

# of "chapters" so far: 230
Rating: Older Teen
Synopsis:
Noblesse is about a powerful, noble vampire - Cadis Etrama Di Raizel (also called Rai) - who has been asleep for 820 years with no knowledge of mankind's advancement and scientific successes. He has recently woken up in an abandoned building in south korea, and is starting to get used to the modern world. He goes to a school where he meets his loyal servant Frankenstein. With Frankenstein's help, Rai enrolls into Ye Ran high school, and inadvertently befriended Shinwoo - an athletic teenager, Ik-Han - a computer geek, Yuuna, Shinwoo's crush, and a few others. Noblesse follows the group's often dangerous adventures against a secret organization while uncovering Rai's past. This Webtoon Manhwa started on the 30th December 2007 and is still publishing.

[Drama of the Week] 1 Liter of Tears (4/1-7/2012)

Image copyright goes out to Satoko Kashikawa

My first drama series was Densha Otoko followed by 1 Liter of Tears which to this day remains one of my favorites and go to dramas when people ask me for recommendations. It actually is a drama in the sense you will be tearing up either from time to time or through out the whole thing like I was. It's ok men, crying is a sign of strength ;)

Runtime: 24 min/ep
# of episodes:11
Type: Novel/ based on true story
Rating: Teen
Synopsis:
This beautifully moving drama is based on the real-life struggles of a 15-year-old girl named Aya who suffered from an incurable disease, but lived life to the fullest until her death at 25. The script is based on the diary Aya kept writing until she could no longer hold a pen. The book that later followed entitled “One Litre of Tears" has sold over 1.1 million copies in Japan alone. Fifteen year old Ikeuchi Aya was just a normal girl, soon to be high school student and daughter of a family who works at a shop that makes tofu. As time passed, unusual things started happening to Aya lately. She started falling down often and walking in a strange way. Her mother Shioka, takes Aya to see the doctor, and he informs Shioka that Aya has spinocerebellar degeneration - a terrible disease where the cerebellum of the brain gradually deteriorates to the point where the victim cannot walk, speak, write, or eat. A cruel disease, as it does not affect the mind in the least. How will Aya react when told about her disease? And how will Aya live from now on?

[Anime of the Week] Qwaser of the Stigmata (4/1-7/2012)

Image copyright goes out to Hoods Entertainment.

Seikon no Qwaser is borderline "why'd I bother material" but there is one redeeming quality about this anime that is keeping me from putting it in that dreaded category- there's a reason for being so much fan service and milk drinking! Now.... this doesn't mean it's a "good" anime to watch, in fact you could watch D.Gray-man and get the same enjoyment without have to endure heaps of over the top fan service, but hey it's all about preference. Oh and btw, this one is NSFW. Don't say I didn't warn you!!!

# of episodes: 24
Type: manga
Rating: Mature
Synopsis:
At St. Mihailov Academy, strange things are happening. Not only did the dean disappear, leaving his daughter Tomo and adopted daughter Mafuyu alone, but girls in the nearby city are being killed by an unknown foe. However, the blades begin to fly when a Russian boy named Sasha arrives. He is a Qwaser, a person able to manipulate the elements after ingesting Soma, breast milk, and he’s not the only one. Soon Tomo and Mafuyu find themselves in the middle of a battle between two groups of Qwasers whose goal is to either protect or steal the Theotokos of Tsarytsin.

SUPAH HERO TIME!!

What up my milleniums! The Blackwinged Magician is back! Sorry for being MIA for a while, been busy balancing out the film and my schoolwork. But I managed give myself a bit of time to bring you guys (in epic voice) SUPAH HERO TIME!!!
Now for those of you that don't know, Super Hero Time is a television block that runs approximately an hour and features two of the most popular Tokatsu shows. Now tokatsu, for those of you unfamiliar with the term, is Japan's equivalent to Power Rangers, Kamen Rider Dragon Knight, etc. Actually, nearly all the footage we've used for those particular series were taken from their Japanese counterparts. Super Sentai (which came first) is the show were we get most of our Power Ranger suit footage. Kamen Rider Dragon Knight was actually the adaptation of Kamen Rider Ryuki, only one of MANY Kamen Rider Series. Now I can go more into detail, but I just really want to give you guys a taste for now and let you be the judge of whether or not you'll be interested enough to tune in (you can find subs for both shows at TV-Nihon or Overtime Subs).
Now just to give you guys a little run-down, Super Sentai is an annual show, meaning every year, there's a new Sentai, new story and new shinanigans. Same goes for Kamen Rider. Now the routine is when the current Kamen Rider hits the mid-way point of the series, the new Super Sentai team replaces the previous and visa versa, i.e. When Super Sentai is half-way through, a new Kamen Rider replaces the previous one.
This year was an AWESOME year for Super Sentai, as Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger had its finale only a few weeks ago. AND IT WAS EPIC. Since this was an anniversary series, we got to see SEVERAL of past senshi(rangers) coming back and it was nostalgic to see all the characters make a come-back. *stares into distance and cries* Not to mention our rangers this time were PIRATES! If that's not epic, I don't know what is. Anyway, this season had an excellent beginning middle and end and I have to admit, it was a little sad to see these characters off. While I don't recommend it to start off with, I do recommend it to those who have been watching Super Sentai for a while.
Now while Gokaiger hit its mid-way point, Kamen Rider OOO was replaced by Kamen Rider Fourze!
Talk about underestimating! I hated this series when I first saw the pictures and went in biased. Thank God I was proved wrong. This series is just GREAT! Great comedy, great story, great protagonist, it is my current favorite Kamen Rider series next to W. Since it is still on-going, I can definitely recommend watching this one.
And now that Gokaiger has finished, Toukmei Sentai Go-Busters has taken their place... I'm gonna be honest, I'm not feeling it. It's seemed sloppy and the feel that all the other Super Sentai had seems completely gone. It kinda feels like Goseiger all over again. I don't know if it'll get better, but right now, I'm not a big fan of this Sentai.

So there you go a brief look into the current Super Sentai and Kamen Rider. I will go into detail on all the series I had mentioned above. If you are new to Tokatsu and don't know what to watch, for Super Sentai, I can recommend Bakuyru Sentai Abaranger and watching all the ones that follow, save for Goseiger and maybe Boukenger. For Kamen Rider, definitely watch all of them from Kabuto on. Until next time!
